About Me

Ambitious at a Young Age

I grew up in Plymouth, Michigan, the land of cider mills and soccer fields. In the 4th grade my parents helped me publish a collection of short stories that still resides in my grade school library today (as far as I know. I don’t, like, go back and check or anything. That’d be weird, right?).

Totally Educated

I graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Screen Arts and Cultures with a Screenwriting sub-concentration. Go Blue!

The screenplays I wrote as a student won the Hopwood Screenplay Award, Kasdan Scholarship in Creative Writing, Naomi Saferstein Literary Award, and the Peter and Barbara Benedek Screenplay Award. Go me!

A short film I wrote was accepted into the Traverse City International Film Festival. Go…cherries!

Creative as Heck

Since moving to Los Angeles in 2014, I’ve written pilots, spec scripts, live sketch shows, web series, digital sketches, and podcasts (and poetry just for myself). I’ve performed in sketch shows, improv, and stand-up comedy. In 2020 my animated TV pilot script President of Earth was optioned and shopped around at agencies and production companies.

Extensively Experienced

I’ve worked in all different sides of the entertainment industry. I’ve done film coverage for production companies, researched potential reboots for Sony Pictures Television, assisted writers on network comedies, and, perhaps most importantly, discovered the perfect lunch spots that everyone in my production offices would like. My experiences have given me a strong understanding of all sides of the entertainment industry, and have brought me to meet some very famous dogs.

Jack of All Trades

I worked in unscripted development at Radley Studios and Chris Hemsworth’s Wild State. I was a jack of all trades, developing episodes and structures for new shows, writing pitch decks and trailers, and performing extensive research. I wrote about a wide array of topics from monsters to masculinity, and I loved the experience of learning all about fascinating people and then engineering the most compelling ways to tell their stories.

Well-Rounded Individual

Something that never shocks a single person who knows me is that I was an Eagle Scout. I’m also famously the “soccer guy” of my friend group because I’ve recruited so many of my friends to support LAFC and Angel City FC. I love watching bad movies and creating wacky D&D characters. Fryman Canyon is my go-to hiking spot. Salazar is my favorite place for tacos. I go rock climbing indoors because it’s the perfect amount of danger for me. My favorite pastime is keeping my senior dog Bear from eating stuff off the ground.
